Guidelines for uploading daycare photos

As a provider, it's important to showcase your daycare space in a way that attracts families and emphasizes the quality of care you offer. However, when uploading photos of your daycare, it's essential to follow certain guidelines to ensure the content's safety, privacy, and appropriateness.

This article provides a concise overview of the rules and recommendations for uploading daycare photos, helping you create an appealing and responsible representation of your childcare facility.

Recommended photo content:

  • Upload four to eight photos highlighting your daycare's unique features, such as the play area, outside play area (if available), front of the house, and other special areas.
  • Obtain parental permission before including photos featuring children's faces. Ensure your daycare space is clean and clutter–free, including both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Photos to avoid:

  • Identifying information: Do not include personal details that could identify a child, such as full names, addresses, or birth dates.
  • Potentially embarrassing situations: Avoid capturing images of children in situations that might embarrass them, such as toileting or during meltdowns.
  • Revealing or inappropriate clothing: Exclude photos of children in revealing or inappropriate attire, including swimwear or scary Halloween costumes.
  • Risky activities: Do not display images of children engaging in dangerous or harmful activities that endanger their safety and well-being.
  • Sexually suggestive or revealing images
  • Depictions of substance use, including alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, vaping, or e-cigarettes
  • Offensive gestures, tattoos, body piercings, weapons, or knives
  • Business or daycare names/logos
  • Sensitive information, such as financial details or contact information
  • Background or captions containing inappropriate words, texts, filters, signs, graffiti, or offensive content
  • Avoid using blurry or pixelated photos to present a professional and appealing representation of your daycare.

Following these guidelines, you can create a positive and professional representation of your daycare. Remember to prioritize the safety, privacy, and well-being of the children in your care. Presenting your daycare appealingly and responsibly will attract potential families while maintaining a respectful environment for all.
